[Original testimony in German]
Full of gratitude I wish to testify to my wonderful experience...
Full of gratitude I wish to testify to my wonderful experience in Christian Science. Several years ago I was obliged to go to a sanitarium for the third time on account of a hemorrhage of the lungs. The doctor's diagnosis was very depressing and did not leave me much hope. I saw the time coming when one may live, but when one can make no demands on life. After a year I was tired of waiting to get well; so many around me had been released; and I was waiting for something which the doctor always promised with a shrug of his shoulders. At the end of twenty-eight months, after another hemorrhage, I heard the doctor saying at my bedside, "I know of nothing more to do." Then I gave up all faith in human help and was ready to die.
It was during this time that I heard of Christian Science. I asked for the address of a practitioner and wrote for help. I at once received the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and a letter of explanation. How willingly I gave up my faith in matter! I felt as if I were being released from a dark place and led into a place filled with light. My healing kept pace with the growth of my understanding of the infinite love and power of our great Master.
To-day the long-time mortal belief which had held me in bondage to sickness seems like a dream from which I have awakened at last. When the time arrives that all mankind is freed from every kind of error, we shall no longer need sanitariums and hospitals. In divine government there is only Truth, Love, and Life. All inharmonious conditions are unreal and must disappear.
