When three months old I suffered from a distressing type...
When three months old I suffered from a distressing type of disease which the doctors employed by my parents failed to relieve. I grew worse. My parents left Germany when I was three years old, hoping the change of climate would help me. The doctors in Ontario pronounced my ailment bronchial asthma, but their remedies failed to cure me. Often I was unable to lie down or sleep for nights at a time.
After I had suffered for twenty years a friend told me of Christian Science, and said I could be healed. "Healed!" I exclaimed, for it seemed too good to be true. I thought it over for some days, and then wrote to the practitioner she mentioned, with the result that I received immediate relief, although my permanent healing was slow. Later I moved to the Northwest, where my business makes it necessary for me to drive in all sorts of weather, often when the thermometer is twenty to forty degrees below zero. But since learning that man lives and moves and has his being in Spirit, God, I experience no evil results.
Like many others I am now glad that my healing was slow, because it made me study the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and my whole outlook on life is changed. It has taught me to think rightly, so as to help myself and my fellow-man.
