It is with great pleasure that I write about my experiences since I began the study of Christian Science. When a child I joined the Protestant church of which my father was a faithful minister. After I entered college this religion did not seem broad enough for me, so I began a search for Truth which lasted for many years and led me through varied experiences. The little beam of light that stayed with me all this time was a firm conviction, received from the Bible, that "God is love." Clinging steadfastly to this thought was a great help to me, but I lacked the understanding of this wonderful truth, though constantly I sought for it. In libraries innumerable I searched through books on religion, philosophy, natural science, and poetry for some gleam of inspiration, and was always grateful for the help received. Still I was far from satisfied, and my life seemed full of disappointments.
About this time I began to attend the services of a near-by Christian Science church, and this brought slowly into my life a quiet peace which has never left me, for I have found that this teaching is what I had been seeking for so many years. The consciousness of having found God, good, and of being forever safe in His kingdom of love is certainly cause for deepest gratitude for Christian Science and of love to its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy.
Many healings have come to me, for all of which I am most grateful. I was healed of hay fever in one absent treatment, and the healing has been permanent. Soon after, the same practitioner helped me to know that God's child is not burdened by debt, and then financial difficulties began to disappear from my life. Fear, grief, and chronic headaches have left me, and faults of character are gradually going as I grow in the realization of the ever-presence of divine Love. To-day I rejoice in being well and happy and free from a sad, sick, and storm-tossed past. Every day and hour I strive to realize that my life comes to me fresh from the fountain of eternal Love.
