Among the Churches

Current Notes

Salinas, California (Society).—Announcement has been made that the new home of the Christian Science Society of Salinas is completed, and that services will be held in the new edifice. Located in an attractive residential district, on Winham Street, just off Main Street, the new church, of English bungalow architecture, adds beauty to its surroundings. The exterior is of buff-colored stucco, with window casings and doors finished in a soft brown. The interior is of lighter shades. The main auditorium is roomy; and the pews, designed after the most modern types, will seat about three hundred. During the past few years the membership has grown to such an extent that it became imperative that the society erect a building of its own.—Journal.

Saginaw, Michigan (First Church).—Substantial enlargement of the church building of First Church of Christ, Scientist, at Warren Avenue and Hayden Street, has been decided upon by the church. It is planned to erect an addition on the Warren Avenue side of the church to house new Sunday school rooms, while on the Hayden Street side of the building there will be a new entrance and lobby. It is expected that the additions will substantially increase the facilities of the church and constitute a decided improvement to the property. It is planned to go ahead with the building as soon as plans can be completed and contracts awarded.
