We have been adherents of Christian Science for several years, friends having called our attention to it. During this time we have experienced innumerable blessings and proofs of its efficacy. Both of our children were healed of whooping cough in a very short time. They were also healed of an eruption. The younger of the two was within a week healed through Christian Science of a serious attack of inflammation of the lungs; and I was healed of rheumatism. My husband once sprained his ankle. His foot was badly swollen. He also turned to a Christian Science practitioner. The pain abated immediately; and within a few days the swelling had disappeared, and he was able to fulfill his duties on the farm without inconvenience.

Some time ago our confidence in God's help was especially strengthened by the healing of our six-year-old child of severe burns. Our maid accidentally spilled a kettle of boiling milk over his body, thus scalding almost two thirds of his entire skin. I telephoned as quickly as possible to a dear practitioner who had frequently helped us. Help was immediately rendered. In less than an hour the child felt no more pain, and in spite of his sore back, was able to sleep the first night after the accident.

Later on, we thought it would be better to call in a physician to reassure the neighbors. He informed us he could not give us much hope, as nearly two thirds of the skin was scalded. But this did not discourage us; for we had often proved that one never relies upon God in vain. The physician was always kind; he visited us twice, and we went to him once to have the bandage removed. He was greatly astonished that everything had healed so quickly. The skin is still somewhat drawn on one shoulder and on one side of the child's back, where the wounds were especially deep; but nothing whatever of the injury is to be seen on his legs, arms, neck, and cheek. In three weeks he was completely healed, and playing with the other children as usual.
