I had been under the care of a physician for over a year...

I had been under the care of a physician for over a year and seemed to have a complete nervous breakdown, which caused me to cry most of the time. My flesh and strength had left me, and I seemed at the open door of the grave, thinking there was no other way. I was afraid of everything, and it was not safe to leave me alone in the house very long at a time. I was very much troubled, for the reason that my own relatives had turned away from me, because of my leaving their church and religion. My husband stood by me, however; and this was a great comfort. About this time a dear sister-in-law wrote me these words: "If you trust God, you will live;" and I was healed before the letter reached me. She also told me that we should both attend the Christian Science church, which we began to do.

Mrs. Eddy tells us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 495): "God will heal the sick through man, whenever man is governed by God." I am so grateful to have been able to learn something of this law of God, and every day brings a healing of some difficulty. I am also grateful for the Christian Science literature, and especially the Christian Science Quarterly, which gives us the weekly Lesson-Sermons. I can now say health, happiness, and peace predominate in our home. My husband has also been benefited in many ways. We are making a study of the Bible, which we were not in the habit of doing, and find it a wonderful blessing when read with Science and Health.
