[Written for the Sentinel]

My Father's Business

Keep me about Thy business, Lord,
That I may ever see
Within the humblest, lowliest task
Something to do for Thee.

No greatness in a worldly work,
No human wealth, or fame;
Just this I ask—that all I do
May glorify Thy name.

I never need to look ahead,
Nor worldly plans to make;
For Love will show unerringly
Which road I am to take.

Help me to be more loving, Lord,
Whatever be my task.
Keep me about Thy business, Lord;
No other work I ask.
