Among the Churches

Current Notes

Denver, Colorado (Fourth Church).—Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist, has now held dedication services for its building. The church is fully equipped, including organ and all furnishings, and affords a seating capacity of more than a thousand in the main auditorium. The broadest portion of the fan-shaped building faces west, while the narrowest part falls at the intersection of Lake Place, West Thirtyfirst Avenue, and Grove Street. From the foyer, at the west end of the building, two broad stairway entrances ascend into the main church auditorium on the upper floor, and descend to the Sunday school room on the lower floor. The fan shape of the auditorium, with the organ and platforms for the Readers and soloist at the narrow end, affords excellent acoustics.—Denver Morning Post.

Richmond, California (First Church).—Plans and specifications for a new Christian Science church in Richmond are now being drafted. The edifice will be located on the site of the present temporary structure at Twelfth Street and Nevin Avenue. The exact type of architecture has not yet been decided upon, but several periods are being considered, including the Roman, Renaissance, and Colonial styles. The growth of membership in the church has necessitated a larger structure.—Richmond Daily Independent.
