In "P. D. Noel's Column" of a recent issue there was an implied criticism of two Christian Scientists who refused to "call a physician with a modern serum cure." Christ Jesus was the great physician who never lost a case If he were walking among us to-day would he make use of a "serum cure"? He healed all manner of sickness, but he never used or recommended material means for healing. Jesus healed through his spiritual understanding of God, good, and of the real man's relation to God as God's image or reflection—expressing only health, goodness, and life. Christ Jesus said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also." In this statement he unquestionably meant that the works are to be done in exactly the same way as he did them, through spiritual means alone. Christian Scientists are striving to follow Jesus' commands. That they are succeeding in a great measure is evident from the many cases of organic and functional disease which are being healed quickly and permanently through Christian Science without the use of drugs, serums, or other material means.
