"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled," said the Master. I came into Christian Science seeking physical healing for my sister. It was first brought under my observation by some people with whom I boarded.

I had been a member of an orthodox church for several years, and an active worker in the church. I constantly longed for a better understanding of the Bible and to know more about God. After seeing some physical healings brought about by Christian Science treatment, I recommended it to my sister. She began the study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and received several minor healings in connection with her invalidism, and manifested a spirit of love toward everyone. This impressed me as a wonderful thing for her; but I did not seem to need Christian Science myself at that time, thinking it was mostly for people who had been pronounced hopeless invalids by medical doctors. Later on, when my health was impaired, I began reading the textbook. The above-quoted beatitude was for me literally fulfilled as I read. It certainly did fill me with a hope and joy I had never experienced before. I felt sure it contained the truth about God and man, and I longed to read it with more understanding.

While visiting my sister I met some people who told me of a practitioner in my city who might help me. I was at this time a semi-invalid with a complication of internal troubles, and an operation had been advised by my physician. I am so thankful for having been directed to a consecrated practitioner who turned me so completely away from personality to divine Principle. I began the study of the textbook, together with the Bible and the Lesson-Sermons contained in the Christian Science Quarterly, which resulted in a complete mental and physical transformation. I have experienced many wonderful healings; also, my little girl has been healed of colds, fever, cuts, boils, and has been able to use her knowledge of Truth, as taught in the Sunday school, to prevent accidents and as a help in her school work.
