In a recent issue, a doctor, writing under the heading, "All Psychology Good," speaks highly of the benefits one may receive through the study of what he terms the "different schools of psychology," and recommends to his readers and to his patients the daily reading of a chapter or two of four books, the first two mentioned being the New Testament and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. We are grateful to the doctor for his frank and honest statement; but he unfortunately gives a wrong impression of Christian Science.

Christian Science emphasizes the all-important fact that there is but one Mind, God. The Bible tells us that God created man in His own image and likeness; from which it is evident that man's ability to think correctly is derived solely from God. Any other belief about thinking is erroneous. Incorrect thinking is what Jesus referred to when, in speaking of the devil, he said, "When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."

On page 469 of Science and Health Mrs. Eddy answers the question, "What is Mind?" as follows: "Mind is God. The exterminator of error is the great truth that God, good, is the only Mind, and that the supposititious opposite of infinite Mind—called devil or evil—is not Mind, is not Truth, but error, without intelligence or reality. There can be but one Mind, because there is but one God; and if mortals claimed no other Mind and accepted no other, sin would be unknown. We can have but one Mind, if that one is infinite." In closing, we desire to make it clear that Christian Science is scientific Christianity, and is the religion taught and practiced by Christ Jesus. It depends solely upon God for its healing efficacy; and so has nothing in common with material psychology, mental science, new-thought, or psychoanalysis.
