Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me.
For almost eleven years I had been wearing the thickest kind of glasses, both for far seeing and for reading and writing, and could not possibly do without them. However, through my wife's advice I did not have the glasses remade the last time I broke them, as I tried to realize that sight is spiritual, not material; that we do not see through the lenses of the glass, but that God is our sight. The first day I went downtown without the glasses I had extreme difficulty in seeing; in fact, I saw very little; and so it was the second day. The third, fourth, and fifth days, however, were quite an improvement over the first and second days. The sixth, seventh, and eighth days the improvement was remarkable, indeed, and I could see almost perfectly without my glasses. On the ninth day my sight was perfect. All this was due to the spiritual uplift I had received through my wife's talk, and also through the loving help of a practitioner.
I should also like to mention the healing I received of influenza, practically instantaneously. My coworkers in the office thought at the time that I would be laid up for a long time, and it was amusing to behold their astonishment when they saw me at my desk the very next morning, completely healed.
