The whole world is looking for leaders to-day — men of . . . sympathy and ideals, able to combine the spirit of good will with the spirit of patriotism. Good will and patriotism—are they not the two qualities most needed at the present time if the many problems which confront this nation are to be satisfactorily solved? I think so; for by patriotism I do not mean the shouting jingo sort, but the spirit which prompts a man in his daily round of duty to serve his felloes, no matter how modestly, and thus help to make his country a happier place for all to live in.
