About ten years ago I became interested in Christian Science. I had been searching for the truth for some time, reading the Bible and many other books; but now I know that I have found the truth that makes free.

I had been ruptured for over forty-five years, and had worn a truss from the time I was two years old. About a year ago I laid it aside. I did not throw it away, as I was not quite sure that I could do without it. When I realized that I was not relying wholly on God, I threw it away; for Mrs. Eddy tells us in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 167), "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." I have not needed it since. I am also grateful for the healing of constipation. I had though I had to take a laxative every morning; but I read in our textbook (p. 142), "God being All-in-all, He made medicine; but that medicine was Mind;" and I have not needed any material medicine from that time on.

I was also cured of smoking. After reading Science and Health the desire just left me, and I have had no desire to smoke since. I had formed the habit of playing cards, and would rather play cards than eat; but I lost the desire for them also. Then I laid aside my glasses, which I had worn for several years. For all of these healings I am indeed grateful.
