I should like to express gratitude for the first healing...
I should like to express gratitude for the first healing experienced by me in Christian Science. It was of what is called shingles. Seemingly it was a most distressing condition. I was in much pain, and burdened with fear. At this time I had no knowledge of how to help myself, so a dear friend, who was a practitioner, was called. She worked for two days without any apparent relief. The third day was Sunday, and I had previously planned to go to The Mother Church with this friend. She advised me not to let error keep me from the good I would surely gain by the service. As I had to go quite a distance by train and trolley, it seemed almost an impossibility; but the thought of obedience was very clear to me, and as I wanted to be obedient, I went. It was hard for me even to listen to the service, so great was my discomfort, and that night and the next day the condition seemed much worse; but the following day I found myself completely healed of what to the medical thought is supposed to last several weeks. I am so grateful for this lesson. I have always found that the greatest blessings come through obedience.
I should like to express gratitude for the privilege of being a member of The Mother Church, and for the joy of having had class instruction. Words could never express my thankfulness to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.
(Mrs.) Grace Sircom, Melrose, Massachusetts.
