The excerpts from the sermon of a clergyman, published in your recent issue, convey an erroneous inference as to Christian Science and its teachings. Christian Science is not a "false" teaching, and is not a "tool" of evil, as was intimated. Christian Science is a spiritual religion, based upon, and in demonstration of, the Scriptures. It has proved its place in the experience of mankind by its regenerating work in lifting humanity out of the bondage of evil and disease. In all its works it is following the teachings of Christ Jesus, and is proving its teaching by healing sin, sickness, and all other death-processes—the signs which he said should "follow them that believe."

Christ Jesus established one infallible test that can be applied to Christian Science and to all other religious teachings. He said: "Every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. ... Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." So let Christian Science be judged.
