Before knowing anything about Christian Science I was...
Before knowing anything about Christian Science I was very unhappy and in poor health most of the time. I consulted many physicians, each of whom told me a different story, until I was almost hopeless. It seemed there was really nothing worth while, and to go on living at times seemed impossible. Although my physical condition was bad, my mental condition was worse.
I really did not expect to be healed when I began studying Christian Science, but took it up more as a philosophy—something to think about besides myself. At that time I did not believe there was a God. Mrs. Eddy's wonderful reasoning, and especially the understanding gained through Christian Science of God as divine Principle, healed me of atheism. Now I am rejoicing that through the little I know of Christian Science I am beginning to understand the Christ, and that life is indeed worth while; and I am proving God's allness every day.
The physical difficulties which were bothering me—stomach trouble, neuralgia, indigestion, throat trouble, headaches, weak eyes for which I had been given glasses, and many others—all faded into their native nothingness. Christian Science is making all things new; and in my case is surely exemplified the new birth spoken of in the Scriptures.
