Among the Churches

Current Notes

The Wheeling Register

Wheeling, West Virginia (First Church).—First Church of Christ, Scientist, is now holding its services in its new church edifice on Fourteenth Street. The church edifice is of buff brick trimmed with Indiana limestone, and its windows and an unusually fine octagonal dome are of beautifully designed art glass. It has one of the finest locations in the city, being located at the corner of Fourteenth and Jacob Streets; and its elevation and pillared entrance give it a beauty and dignity well suited to its purpose—to give help and encouragement to all who enter it. The main auditorium with its gallery has a seating capacity of five hundred, and its Sunday school room downstairs seats three hundred. A row of trees on Jacob Street will add to its beauty.
