[Original testimony in German]

With profound gratitude I wish to give my testimony

With profound gratitude I wish to give my testimony. When I was four years old I met with an accident. I was pushed down twenty steps into a cellar. Very soon afterwards I suffered daily from nosebleed, loss of appetite, and general weakness of all the organ. The action of the bowels was not regular, and I suffered from colic. For fifty-one years I was obliged to stimulate the action of the bowels by various artificial means. In July, 1920, I had a complete breakdown and the physician then declared I must undergo an operation, for I could no longer retain any food and suffered constantly from nausea. But I would not hear of an operation, and only asked that some one should read to me from the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, until I received further help from a dear Christian Science practitioner.

After the first treatment by the practitioner an improvement took place at once. To everybody's surprise I was able to eat half a flounder the very next day without experiencing any discomfort whatever. I was also able to get up at once. Since then I have been able to eat anything I like without discomfort. After further treatment the bowels acted regularly. Generally speaking, I made great progress during this time; and I have grown stronger both physically and spiritually. I have used no material remedies since then.

For the many blessings which have come to my family and to me through Christian Science I am grateful. I wish to express my heartiest, most profound thanks to our Father-Mother God, to the practitioner, and to all the dear people who took part in leading me to this wonderful teaching.—(Mrs.) Rosa Gutenschwager, Berlin-Pankow, Germany.
