I am very grateful for Christian Science

I am very grateful for Christian Science. Many times I have witnessed the healing power of Truth and Love. Thirteen years ago, during a case of confinement, two doctors who were in attendance gave me up to die. I knew of one lady who was interested in Christian Science in the small mountain town where I was living, and I asked that she be called. When she arrived at my home, I asked her to read to me from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I repeated over and over again the twenty-third psalm, beginning, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." In about an hour the child was born, alive and well. One of the doctors later said a miracle had been performed. His own wife afterward took up Christian Science and was healed by it.

Another experience I wish to give to prove the healing power of Christian Science was demonstration over an ingrown toenail. This condition seemed very severe. Finally I was unable to walk on that foot, and a surgeon who examined the toe said it would be necessary for me to go to the hospital to have the nail removed. I had Christian Science treatment, with the result that in five days I was able to walk on the foot, and in two weeks it was entirely normal.

I wish to express my gratitude to God for Christian Science; to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; to our beloved Leader, who rediscovered this truth; also to the teacher with whom I had class instruction, for teaching me how to make the truth more practical in my daily life. I also wish to express my gratitude to the loving practitioners who have helped me, and for all the different activities in Christian Science.—(Mrs.) Martha H. Squires, Stockton, California.
