One of the Commandments declares that the iniquity of the fathers is visited upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate God. Is not such hate "enmity against God"? This belief in evil inheritance does not, of course, follow those who love God and keep His commandments. I quite agree with the critic that it was in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that Peter was enabled to say to the cripple, "Rise up and walk;" but it was his spiritual understanding of the truths which Jesus taught that expressed the effective power. Matter is neither immortal, eternal, spiritual, divine, nor immutable. This is why Christian Science declares it to be unreal. It seems very real to mortal mind, of which it is the subjective state, but this so-called mind is only a belief in a mind apart from God. God is infinite, divine Mind, and can have no real opposite.
