With a grateful heart I give the following testimony, relative to the healing of my thirteen-year-old daughter. One evening she complained about severe pains in the right side of the abdomen; and the next morning she was unable to arise. She requested me to write to a Christian Science practitioner in Breslau and ask for treatment. At first the condition improved; but one night she complained so much about pain, and to mortal mind seemed so ill, that a great fear came over me. The next morning I took the train in order to discuss the matter personally with the practitioner. When she saw my great fear, which I was unable to overcome sufficiently, she asked me whether I knew how much there was in Christian Science for me. After this I became quieter, and left all my cares to God. My daughter improved daily and the fever disappeared, but there was still something out of order in the abdomen. One day I noticed a hard lump under the stomach which caused her intense pain.

In order to pacify my mother I asked a physician to come. He stated that it was an abscess which was caused by inflammation of the appendix. Now I knew that my child had suffered from appendicitis during those days of trial, and that she had not been mentally clear, for she could not recollect all that had happened. The physician was of the opinion that it might take weeks for the abscess to open, and he wished to lance it in order to help. I then told him that we were Christian Scientists. He replied that he had read much in favor of this religion, and that I should do what I thought best. I then immediately sent a special delivery letter to the practitioner; and at noon of the second day the abscess opened normally. When we notified the physician, as he had requested us to do, he seemed astonished that it had happened so soon and in the manner in which it had occurred. My daughter is hale and hearty to-day.

My youngest daughter, two years old, received an almost instantaneous healing of a rupture when she was six months old. I have received these and many other blessings through God's help, through the activity of Truth; and my heart is filled with deep gratitude to God and to His servant, Mrs. Eddy, who gave us this healing religion.
