It is Truth that Heals
All the world is hoping for healing. Men are longing to be freed from their sorrows and disappointments; from their sicknesses, and even from their sins. They would like to enjoy invariable happiness and success, health and holiness, if only they could be assured that these blissful states were within their reach and that they could learn how to attain them. The way to this is at hand, and the door to it has been opened beyond the possibility of ever again being closed.
God's divine purpose has always been that good shall prevail universally through the infinitude of Truth; and the prophets of old were able to prove this in just the degree that they understood it. Then Jesus came demonstrating in his living and teaching the perfection and power of Truth; and he left his incomparable example for all men to follow. In addition to this,—in our age,—Divine Science, or the Comforter, has been revealed to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, —that Comforter which Jesus promised should come with its complete revelation of the Christ, Truth, wherewith all men are to be redeemed from all evil. Now Truth has always been the only healer and redeemer, and may to-day be proved to be ever present and all-powerful.
To the consecrated, alert Christian Scientist there can never be any question but that Truth is revealed in Christian Science, and that it is possible so to lay hold of it that it may be demonstrated to be the savior from all our sicknesses and sins. This does not yet seem to be perfectly accomplished, and true students constantly watch and pray that they may understand Truth more clearly and gain an ever increasing faith in its complete adaptability and power to overcome all that is unlike itself.
