Confidence

"Lead me in a plain path and teach me."—Psalms 27:11.

In peace apart—to ponder this—
My God is All-in-all;
My friend, my counselor, my guide,
Who hears me when I call.

Just to be led! Truth's guidance sure
Makes light the heavy task;
To work, to serve, to rest secure;
He answers when I ask.

He will not leave me nor forsake;
The plain path stretches on;
Though dark it seem,—I rise, awake;
He speaks; and night is gone!

O Thou my God, omnipotent!
Thy Word is life to me.
Forever near, Thy love is mine;
Alone I cannot be.
