With deep gratitude I wish to relate a healing which I experienced in 1921. My seven-year-old child became ill with appendicitis and we sent it to a hospital, where it was operated on immediately on arrival. After several days the doctors stated that the child had peritoneal suppuration. It was operated on four times in all, for the entire peritoneum was affected. In addition to this the heart became very weak, and pneumonia developed. The physicians had absolutely no hope for our child.

But in this time of trouble, in our extremity, help was very near, and God's goodness was manifested to us. Our attention was called to Christian Science, a teaching of which we had not heard previously. We now requested a practitioner to help us; and this was lovingly done. After a few treatments improvement was noticeable. The pneumonia vanished, and the physicians could not understand what had happened to the child. The symptoms of the other ailments also disappeared. This occurred three years ago, and the healing has been permanent. During this time we have received many other proofs of this great truth. The child now attends the Sunday school gladly and regularly.

My gratitude for this healing truth is boundless. I have learned to seek for help where it is always to be found, in our loving God, who is ever willing to help.
