In 1912, when Christian Science found me, I was broken down physically and mentally, with a physical ailment from which there seemed to be no way to gain relief. I had lost all faith in material means for help, and was thinking of a plan to put myself off this earth when it was proposed that I try Christian Science. While I did not think it would help me, I was willing to try anything that promised relief. In one hour's time, with the help of a Christian Science practitioner, I was lifted from darkness and despair into light—a most wonderful experience. I was not, however, completely healed of the physical ailment until eleven years afterwards, when all fear vanished. I can truly say that I am thankful for this slow healing, because it caused me to study Christian Science and strive for the truth.

I had many other healings in that time for which I am indeed grateful. I am grateful for the Journal and the Sentinel; they are broad channels filled with spiritual thought and food. Christian Science has met and is meeting my every need. I am indeed grateful to God, to Christ Jesus, and to Mary Baker Eddy for this wonderful truth.
