In December, 1918, I was told by a physician that I could never be well again. This, to me, was a dreadful sentence, as I had two small children to care for, their father having passed on three years before. Upon being told by the doctor that I could never be well again, I sent for a Christian Science practitioner. She lovingly came to me. Immediately she had explained something of the truth, the dark clouds of sense began to disperse, and the radiant light to dawn upon my consciousness. I began to grasp the precious promises of Christ Jesus, and to claim health as my rightful heritage.

The sickness from which I was suffering was leakage of the heart, supposed to have been brought on by a relapse after an attack of influenza. This condition was attended by great fear. Upon being referred, however, to Isaiah 41:10, I was freed from this fear. I have been in perfect health ever since, and may add that subsequently I obtained a life insurance policy.

I am indeed grateful for Christian Science—grateful that the teachings of our Master were brought back to suffering humanity through the consecrated life of Mary Baker Eddy.
