Great and deep-felt gratitude to God, to our revered...
Great and deep-felt gratitude to God, to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and to a dear Christian Science practitioner impels me to recount a healing which I have experienced.
For about two years I had been suffering from a tiresome and disagreeable eruption of the skin which manifested itself chiefly on the face, and finally even on the ears. Various doctors whom I consulted were unable to bring about a healing. All the remedies used, such as irradiation, injections, and a variety of medicine, were of no avail. This continued condition made me very ill-humored. Often I was quite disheartened, and inwardly had become a dissatisfied person. Then, in the beginning of the year, it was my good fortune to become acquainted with Christian Science. At the very first Wednesday evening testimony meeting which I attended I gained great confidence in this teaching, and after hearing a few testimonies, I was convinced that it would help me, too. I took up the study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and asked a practitioner for treatment, which was given me most lovingly. I have been perfectly free from this disease for some time, and have again become a woman inwardly joyous and contented. I believe that in the beginning I was often an impatient pupil, as the healing did not proceed rapidly enough to suit me. For this reason I am greatly indebted to the practitioner, who knew how to show me the path of Truth with patience and goodness.
For this proof of God's infinite love I thank Him from the bottom of my heart. My endeavor is daily to walk along the path which He points out to us. I am also grateful to our revered Leader for her beautiful writings, which sustain me.
