Christian Science was brought to my attention about...
Christian Science was brought to my attention about seven years ago, when I had lost all faith in religion. So prejudiced was I against creeds and dogmas that I could not read the Bible until I had learned through the teachings of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy that God is not a being like unto a supposed material man, but the living divine Principle, a help in every need. I was healed of a severe cold, a condition which ever since childhood had been with me every winter. That was my first healing; and I am very thankful to state that it was permanent. I have also been healed of many other physical ailments, and can truthfully say that Christian Science has been my one and only remedy.
A healing came to me a few months ago for which I am exceedingly grateful. I had a very deep sense of hatred and resentment for my former religion, and especially for all who professed to be of that faith. So real seemed this false sense that it tortured me night and day, making me miserable. Finally, with the loving help of a kind and faithful Christian Science practitioner, I was awakened to the fact that in reality we are all God's children, and that He alone governs the universe. The only thing to do was to be ever conscious of good, and to become pure enough in heart to see good in all God's children; for only in proportion as one becomes pure enough in heart to see good, does one know and see God.
I am deeply grateful to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for giving to this world a practical understanding of God, who is Love, free from all materiality, and of the truth that is making all men free. I know and realize that I owe everything to Christian Science; and I am truly grateful. I am also grateful to all who have so lovingly led me to the wonderful freedom which comes through understanding infinite good.
