I heard of Christian Science for the first time in 1906, and felt at once drawn towards this harmonious teaching. At that time the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, had not been translated into the German language, and I did not know English; but through my honest desire to understand Christian Science, I learned the English language with ease, whereas before it had seemed very difficult.
