"One primal cause"

One of the reasons why Christian Science is attracting an ever increasing number of thoughtful men and women to its ranks is not merely that it does so much for mankind, but because everything it claims may be put to the test and proved to be true in the experience of every adherent.

Many years ago the writer was a member of an adult Bible class, and heard a paper read on the subject, "Can a man carry the teachings of Christianity into his business and be successful?" The answer given was a unanimous "No." Christian Science not only teaches that the answer should be "Yes," but goes farther and states that it is only by the adoption of those teachings that true success can be attained, meaning thereby a success which not only manifests itself outwardly in the supply of every human need, but also includes spiritual growth, so that not only is the business-man himself blessed, but also those with whom he comes into business relationships.

A great field of useful activity lies before the Christian Scientist in the business world to-day, since the belief of lack and impoverishment seems so widespread that it has emphasized the basic error that man is dependent on some other source than God for the abundant supply of all that he needs in every direction. Even some who are students of Christian Science, hearing these erroneous beliefs voiced, are at times tempted to accept the suggestion that they are in charge of or concerned with a sick business, forgetting for the moment that in reality a sick business can no more belong to the truth of being than can a sick man.
