Riverside, Ill. (First Church).—Introducing Peter V. Ross, a Christian Science lecturer, to his audience, Mrs. Elva Secreste Harney said in part:—

The experience which led me to become a student of Christian Science is not at all unlike that of many others. For years, in fact from childhood, relief from serious discordant conditions had been most earnestly and expectantly sought through medicine. With faith and confidence in material means fast disappearing, there came a day when treatments and remedies were abandoned, for they had failed to meet the need. My faith in them was gone. At this time Christian Science came to me. A copy of the Christian Science textbook was left in my home by a younger member of the family; and to satisfy myself that she was not being led astray I read this book, and through this reading and study during the following months I found my healing. Eighteen years of proving His promise, "He shall call upon me, and I will answer him," has established a confidence and satisfying assurance of His nearness that meets the daily need; and with the Psalmist I can say, "He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God."
