About five years ago I suffered from a nervous breakdown; and in the following two years and a half I sought help from every possible material source that offered any encouragement—medical doctors, chiropractic treatments, physical culture, diets, new-thought, and mental suggestive treatments. I even made several visits to a faith healer of international repute, who was visiting our city at that time. None of these helped me in the least, but rather buried me deeper in false theories, that had to be untangled to gain a true understanding of being. I was in mental agony and despair, running from one fear into another, when a friend suggested that I try Christian Science. I had tried almost everything else, and was willing to try this if there were any possible hope for relief. From the beginning my condition began to improve; and it continued to do so, until to-day I feel in perfect health. To begin with I often hoped and prayed that my healing might be instantaneous, in order that I might be lifted out of the mental agony which seems characteristic of nervous breakdowns. I am very glad, however, that it was not; for this compelled me to study, and my study gave me an understanding of God and my relation to Him. This understanding not only has healed me, but has benefited me in many ways, including home and business affairs.

It is indeed good to know that there is a specific remedy for every one of our ills; that no longer need we experiment with speculative theories, running from one false god to another. Our real God, our Father-Mother, is indeed ever present and always willing, but we need to be willing, but we need to be willing too. I am very grateful that one woman, Mary Baker Eddy, in this age was pure enough to behold the truth that unlocks the Scriptures and opens the door from the house of bondage, giving us a rational understanding of God, who is Love and the healer of all our diseases. I am grateful to the practitioners who have so lovingly and patiently assisted me, and to Mrs. Eddy for leaving us the wonderful message of Truth contained in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and her other writings.—Arthur O.
