On page 12 of "Rudimental Divine Science" Mrs. Eddy says, "Christian Science erases from the minds of invalids their mistaken belief that they live in or because of matter, or that a so-called material organism controls the health or existence of mankind, and induces rest in God, divine Love, as caring for all the conditions requisite for the well-being of man."
Twenty-six years ago this was proved true for me. I was wearing glasses and suffering from astigmatism, which the oculist pronounced incurable. Through the spiritual understanding of a Christian Scientist I was enabled to know that sight is in no way dependent on matter or a "so-called called organism," but that it is a spiritual sense. The healing was complete; for I have read and worked constantly since that time with no aid from glasses. A few months after this healing I discovered that heart trouble, which I had had since early childhood, had been healed. This was accomplished through earnest study and attending the church services.
During these intervening years Christian Science has been to me the Comforter, bringing more and more gratitude for the Christ, Truth.
