As long as I can remember, prior to the time I became interested in Christian Science, I had been subject to tonsillitis. I was never without a gargling solution or throat tablets, because the slightest change in the weather would bring on this trouble. About twelve years ago, I had an attack of quinsy, and the doctor told me at that time that nothing but an operation would prevent the possibility of several returns of this every winter. The following autumn I learned of Christian Science and took up the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I have never had any throat trouble since.

Several years after this healing, while at the office one noon, I suddenly lost my voice, and could scarcely speak above a whisper. I succeeded, however, in saying a few words over the telephone to a Christian Science practitioner. The next morning my voice was normal, except for a slight hoarseness, which disappeared within a few days. Later, I was healed, through the aid of another practitioner, of an acute case of constipation. I have never had a recurrence of either of these difficulties. During the twelve years I have been studying Christian Science I have not lost any time from my work on account of illness.

Christian Science has been a wonderful help to me in times of fear, doubt, and discouragement, as well as in sickness and sorrow. My slight understanding has protected me from accidents and contagion, proving Mrs. Eddy's words (Science and Health, p. 449), "A grain of Christian Science does wonders for mortals, so omnipotent is Truth." For the gradual unfoldment of this truth which is coming to me daily, and for the experiences and privileges I have had, I am grateful beyond measure.
