As long as I can remember I have been seeking the truth

As long as I can remember I have been seeking the truth. At the age of eight years I began to read the Bible, and by reading several chapters a day I read it through many times before coming into Christian Science. I visited churches of many denominations in my Truth, but I was not satisfied with their teachings. Finally, I met a lady whom I later found to be a Christian Science practitioner, and I was led to ask her the many questions which so-called orthodox theology was unable to answer to my satisfaction. These questions were answered so well that I immediately began to look further into Christian Science and to study it. Within fourteen months after I first heard of it, I became a member of a branch church, and after that, a member of The Mother Church.

When I came into Christian Science I was wearing eye glasses for nearsightedness. In a few months, without any special treatment being given for this trouble, I laid them off; and I have never needed them since. In a similar manner, I was able to lay off arch-supporters. I was instantly healed of ptomaine poisoning and of a sprained ankle. I was born with what the physicians called thickening of the vocal cords, which made my voice unpleasant and difficult to understand when I spoke. It was also impossible for me to sing. This was the condition when I came into Christian Science. Without any special Science work being done to overcome this, the healing has taken place, and I can speak and sing normally.

Although I am very grateful for all the healings I have had in Christian Science, I am more grateful for the fact that I have a God whom I can know and whom I can love. I am inexpressibly grateful for class instruction, which I feel is the greatest blessing I have had. I am grateful, too, to our beloved Leader for having given us this great truth.
