Many years ago, I made application to a hospital to take the nurse's training. To the question, "Why do you want to become a nurse?" my answer was, "To help suffering humanity; to help others as I have been helped."

For years I had been a great sufferer, having undergone several major and minor operations and needing the services of nurses. While I seemed to get some relief from these operations I was never healed, and I continued to suffer for several years longer, undergoing more operations. Finally, when physicians said they could do no more for me, I applied to a Christian Science practitioner for help, and was healed. That was thirteen years ago. I began at once the study of Christian Science, and have since been healed of paralysis of the intestines, an abnormal growth, neuritis, pneumonia, and other physical conditions. I was healed of melancholia at a Sunday morning service during the singing of the solo, the words of which were from Isaiah: "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee." With the word "arise" the mist rolled away; and it was indeed God's glory that shone upon me.

During the years that I have been a student of Christian Science I have learned, not only to help myself, but to be a help to others. I have found by the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and the other writings of our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, that I am able to help others in a larger and better way, by bringing them not only physical aid, but mental and moral as well.
