I hardly know where to begin when I try to express...

I hardly know where to begin when I try to express gratitude for all that Christian Science means to me. I first heard of this beautiful teaching when a girl of sixteen, but as my parents did not approve of anything new in the way of religion, I did not then follow it up in any way. The seed was sown, however, and was to bear fruit. About fifteen years later, when I was in ill health from rheumatism, from which the doctors could give me no relief, my husband said one evening, "I think now there is nothing for you but to try Christian Science." Oh, how pleased I was to hear him say it, as it had been my earnest wish for many months that the time would come when I would be free to try Christian Science. Needless to say, I set about at once to find a practitioner; and the one to whom I was led proved to be so loving and patient and helpful that I can truly say life for me, from that time on, was changed. It seemed almost as if I had been blind, and was just beginning to see the glorious light. I at once stopped taking drugs, which I never missed; and just in proportion as I was faithful in my study, and in putting into practice the knowledge gained, my health returned. From then until now, nine years, Truth has been my only physician. It was so helpful to learn, as time went on, that our loving Father-Mother God meant us ever to feel the need of His protecting care, and that at no time are we sufficient unto ourselves.

My husband and our two boys, as well as I myself, have had many beautiful healings; and I have been helped to overcome faults of disposition, such as bad temper, faultfinding, and despondency. Also I wish to express gratitude for freedom from fear at the birth of a dear baby daughter.

Just to say I am grateful for all that Christian Science means to me does not seem enough. My earnest prayer is that I may show forth gratitude in my daily life, and help others to find the peace and fullness of life which are to be found in this beautiful teaching. I am very grateful to Mrs. Eddy, and to all those who have so lovingly helped me along the way.—(Mrs.) Lillian Sanburn, Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
