[Written for the Sentinel]

Light

HAST ever watched the dawn of light
Steal o'er the hilltops, out of night?
As light emerges, darkness flies;
And wondrous beauty fills the skies.

So is it when the truth's bright beam
Shines in upon me with its gleam;
Dark shadows, sickness, fears, depart
When Christ's pure light reigns in my heart.
