The Continuity of The Mother Church

AN erroneous argument is now being industriously circulated throughout the field to the effect that it was Mrs. Eddy's expectation and desire that the present organization of The Mother Church should be dissolved were she ever to relinquish her place as head of the Christian Science church; and in furtherance of this contention a statement made by our Leader, thirty years ago, has been taken from its context and advanced as evidence of our Leader's desire that the church be dissolved. The statement is this:

"Despite the prosperity of my church, it was learned that material organization has its value and peril, and that organization is requisite only in the earliest periods in Christian history." (Retrospection and Introspection, p. 45.)
