Every Christian Scientist understands the process of healing; otherwise he would not be a Christian Scientist, any more than one could be a mathematician and not understand the underlying law of mathematics. The process of Christian Science healing is both mental and spiritual. Christian Science healings are accomplished by prayer. Jesus gave to his disciples the following rule: "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

No religion in the world to-day is producing more fruits than is Christian Science. By it the sick are healed, the sinner is reformed. Those hungering and thirsting after righteousness hear the pure and unadulterated gospel preached unto them. The widow is comforted through its teachings, and the fatherless are supplied. It is not a difficult matter to understand the teachings of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, if one is an honest seeker for Truth. Any book of spiritual origin must of necessity be spiritually discerned. However, he who reads this book with any other motive than a righteous one, naturally would not be endowed with spiritual knowledge sufficient to discern the underlying truth. It has a language all its own. It is without doubt the new tongue which Jesus declared to be one of the "signs following." Those who adhere strictly to its teachings bear the stamp of the true Christian as they express in their daily life joy, happiness, love, helpfulness, and healing for their fellowmen. One who reads the Christian Science textbook with an honest and unbiased thought will find nothing therein of a "tricky nature;" nor is there any statement in it which conflicts in any way with the inspired Word of the Bible. Christian Science has succeeded in making more Bible students than any other religion in the world, since every student of Christian Science must study the Bible as part of the Lesson-Sermon, which is read in every Christian Science church the world over on Sunday of each week.

No one disputes the fact that the Bible is an inspired record and could, therefore, be termed "God's Book;" yet it should be remembered that this holy Book is the outgrowth of the experience of the inspired writers and is, therefore, the result of their religion. Had these inspired writers not understood God, the books of the Bible would not have been compiled.
