I feel very grateful that Christian Science has come into...
I feel very grateful that Christian Science has come into my life. I have had both mental and physical healings. The one I should like to mention is the healing of my eyes. I had very sever astigmatism, and for many years I was compelled to wear glasses. I consulted three prominent specialists, two in London and one in Dublin. The first one seemed to think that when I left school my sight would improve. Having been with this one for some time, and my eyes not getting any better, I was taken to another, who said I must leave school and discontinue reading for a considerable time, nearly twelve months. During that period I came to live in Ireland, and then went to the third specialist, who seemed to agree with the previous one. I was told to take great care of my eyes and my health, as my sight for reading was like that of one seventy years of age.
After being in Christian Science for about eight months I was instantaneously healed. My eyes were giving a little trouble, so it came to me one evening that I should give myself treatment. I took the Bible and opened at Matthew 20:32—34. I then put off my glasses and realized that sight is spiritual understanding, so that I was not depending on material eyes for vision. With that thought I took up "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and found I could read prefectly; and I have done so ever since. I can see even the smallest kind of print or needlework.
I can never say how thankful I am for this healing, and for being able to take a small part in Christian Science church activities.—(Miss) Emily D. Brown, Blackrock, County Dublin, Ireland.
