Every Christian Scientist understands the process of healing; otherwise he would not be a Christian Scientist, any more than one could be a mathematician and not understand the underlying law of mathematics.
A seemingly worn-out blacksmith at the age of sixty-seven, I began attending services at the local Christian Science church, not with any hope of being healed of diseases which I had come to consider chronic and incurable, but because I had learned to love and respect many of the Scientists with whom I came in daily contact.
I was suffering from internal trouble accompanied by copious hemorrhages, which had exhausted my strength and filled me with apprehension as to the outcome.
Through the loving work of Christian Science practitioners, and also as a result of my own efforts, I have been healed of constipation, a complaint of long standing; of neuralgia; a sense of fear when alone; and many attacks of cold, or the grippe.
