It is with much joy and gratitude that I testify to the benefits received in Christian Science, which was presented to me when in great need spiritually, physically, and financially. Some twelve years ago, on awakening one morning, I found myself suffering from quinsy sore throat. The aid of a Christian Science practitioner was sought, and help was lovingly given, with the result that in about three days I awakened in the morning to find myself entirely free. To say I was surprised would not express my feeling, as I had been told the trouble would last several days longer, and then the swelling would break or have to be lanced. It never broke; it simply disappeared.

For a long time I had been trying to gain some knowledge of God. I had been called an agnostic by my friends, and resented it. After this healing, I commenced the study of the Bible, with the aid of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and found that for which I had been seeking,—the God who is ever present and available for every need.

During these twelve years I have had many proofs of God's care and loving-kindness. I should like to tell of two experiences. One, an acute attack of rheumatism, which bound the entire body, was healed in less than a week with the help of a practitioner. Eighteen months ago, while I was attempting to board a car in the subway, my ankle appeared to be dislocated. Instantly a voice spoke to me, saying, There are no accidents in divine Mind; and the ankle bone snapped into place. I was not even thrown to the ground. A gentleman and a lady who witnessed the happening helped me to a seat, and then called the officer who was in charge of the station, who insisted on taking my name. I was assisted to a taxicab, and during the fifteen minutes which it took to drive to my home the demonstration was made, so that I was able to leave the machine and walk up a flight of stairs without assistance, and was able to prepare the family meal that night. My shoe was not removed until bedtime. The following day there was some swelling and soreness, but in three days I was going about as usual.
