Assurance

How shall we overcome the fear
That all's not well, when days seem drear;
When tempests rage and wild winds blow?
Be still! Be still; and know!
Just know no harm lurks anywhere,
For God guards all with loving care.
These are the thought-seeds we must sow,
If we would know, if we would know
God's everywhere!

God's love preserveth us from harm;
His angel ever does disarm
The thoughts of fear, and lack, and pain,
And makes us whole remain.
He giveth all their daily need,
And doth with heav'nly manna feed.
His power, His strength, each day will show;
And we shall know, and we shall know
God's everywhere!

Look up, dear heart; each trial's a test.
Lean, weary one, upon His breast,
Till heav'n and earth, transformed anew,
Do prove God's promise true.
Just know His loving Word ne'er fails;
It matters not how fear assails.
So we shall love, and loving grow;
And then we'll know, ah, yes, we'll know
God's everywhere!
