The comment in regard to Christian Science may apply...

Southern Cross

The comment in regard to Christian Science may apply to some sort of mind-healing and the exercise of will-power; but with these Christian Science has nothing in common. Christian Science was probably the first teaching to bring prominently forward the pronouncement that fear is an inducing cause of disease; but it is now generally accepted that such is the case. Mrs. Eddy, however, goes farther, and says on page 411 of her book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "The procuring cause and foundation of all sickness is fear, ignorance, or sin." Where Christian Science differs from materia medica, suggestion, psychotherapeutics, and so on, is in its method of removing or destroying these three causes. Fundamentally, it is based upon the inherent perfection of man.
