I have long felt that it was my duty and privilege to testify to the power of God to heal sickness as well as sin. And in answer to the command, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel," I am sending this testimony, hoping that it will help some others struggling for freedom as I myself have been helped.

I wish to tell of a healing of croup we had in our family recently. Our little boy, four years old, had a cold, but to the material way of thinking nothing serious; and his father and I thought nothing of it, so did not ask for help; but, failing to overcome it, we put the child to bed, and in about thirty minutes heard him wake with a very hoarse cough. I went to see about him, and when I took him in my arms he was breathing with difficulty. I became frightened and asked his father to call a practitioner at once; but he took the child from me, and I talked to the practitioner myself. When I told her my trouble, and heard the assurance that God was caring for the child continually, that we were not to believe anything about God's child that was not true, and that the thought of croup was not true, I became calm again. She said she would be glad to work for him at once. So we put the child to bed again, and I read to him from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." In about thirty minutes he was sleeping soundly, breathing with ease, and the coughing had stopped. We had no more trouble that night; but the cold did not leave entirely for two or three days. He has had no return of the symptoms; and for this healing we are very grateful to Christian Science.

I am grateful to the practitioner who was so loving and kind; grateful to God for revealing this truth to us; and for the privilege of reading and striving to understand more of this truth that sets us free from all error. I thank God daily for giving us a woman whose thought was pure enough to receive this revelation of truth for the world.
