On page 149 of "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany," Mrs. Eddy says: "Remember, thou canst be brought into no condition, be it ever so severe, where Love has not been before thee and where its tender lesson is not awaiting thee. Therefore despair not nor murmur, for that which seeketh to save, to heal, and to deliver, will guide thee, if thou seekest this guidance." I have had great reason to be thankful for this, for the truth of it has been proved to me many times.

A great trouble came to me when I first became interested in Christian Science. Science was not at all clear to me then, and all I knew was that somehow God would show me the way and take care of it. As time went on, various things presented themselves to be worked out; and, finally, a place was reached which seemed absolutely impossible for me to pass through. But Love was there, guiding and helping me every step of the way! And when the thing I had dreaded most of all finally came, I was not at all disturbed by it. Through the whole situation I was not only strengthened, but protected and provided for.

Also I am very grateful for a healing I have had. After having two severe abdominal operations I was still far from well; but now I am perfectly well, and able to do all kinds of work without any trouble. For these and many other healings I am very grateful to God, and to Mrs. Eddy; also I am grateful for the patient, loving help I have received.
