For the benefit of your subscribes I desire to say that Christian Science has nothing whatever in common with spiritualism, nor does it advance the theory of personal intercommunion of spirit. On the contrary, in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy devotes an entire chapter of thirty pages to "Christian Science Versus Spiritualism," and on page 13 of "No and Yes" she writes, "No greater opposites can be conceived of, physically, morally, and spiritually, than Christian Science, spiritualism, and theosophy." Christian Science dispels the darkness of human beliefs and hypotheses with the light of spiritual understanding; and thus, through the ever operative law of divine Love, enables one to say with the psalmist: "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." On page 72 in the chapter above referred to Mrs. Eddy writes, "Not personal intercommunion but divine law is the communicator of truth, health, and harmony to earth and humanity." Also on page 77 of the same chapter she continues: "Even if communications from spirits to mortal consciousness were possible, such communications would grow beautifully less with every advanced stage of existence. The departed would gradually rise above ignorance and materiality, and Spiritualists would outgrow their beliefs in material spiritualism."

Remembering the words of Scripture, "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye," Christian Scientists depend wholly upon God, divine Mind, for inspiration and guidance in human affairs, which brings to the human consciousness the realization of the all-presence, all-power, all-wisdom, and all-intelligence of God, and man as reflecting the divine image and likeness.
