Christian Science focuses the attention and thought on what all Christians desire to grasp,—the things of Spirit, God. History shows us that Christ Jesus came to this world at a time of great need. Mankind's faith in God was wavering, and thought had become so self-seeking and material that men were fast falling away from God. Jesus' wonderful proofs in healing sin, sickness, and death roused mankind from their dreams, and gave them the great incentive to seek and know the spiritual life. It teaches of love not hate; it holds out a hand to help up, not strike down; it seeks to heal, not cause suffering; it brings the sunshine of happiness into the heart and not the darkness of despair. Those who are striving to live faithfully the teachings of Christian Science are proving these facts, and the results are health, freedom, and happiness.
