The Lectures
Ironwood, Mich. (Society).—Lecturer introduced by Mrs. Marion Larson, who said in part:—
Christian Science focuses the attention and thought on what all Christians desire to grasp,—the things of Spirit, God. History shows us that Christ Jesus came to this world at a time of great need. Mankind's faith in God was wavering, and thought had become so self-seeking and material that men were fast falling away from God. Jesus' wonderful proofs in healing sin, sickness, and death roused mankind from their dreams, and gave them the great incentive to seek and know the spiritual life. Surely, there is great need to-day for seeking and knowing spiritual life, and Christian Science as discovered and taught by Mary Baker Eddy has been given to the world, showing each one who seeks it the way to this life. It teaches of love not hate; it holds out a hand to help up, not strike down; it seeks to heal, not cause suffering; it brings the sunshine of happiness into the heart and not the darkness of despair. Those who are striving to live faithfully the teachings of Christian Science are proving these facts, and the results are health, freedom, and happiness.
Indianapolis, Ind. (joint lecture).—Lecturer introduced by W. Curtis Day, who said in part:—
